The wreck of the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is being towed to a scrap yard in Genoa, Italy. This is video of the towing operation taken from drones flying around the salvaged ship. You can track the progress of the operation in real time !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

The Concordia is basically a giant trihull now.

That thing looks creepy as shit. It needs to become a rat-ship.

Those are some hard working tugs, I tell you what.

I really hope they make an awesome documentary about the salvage.

So do I. I'd really like to know how they got that thing afloat. Clearly an epic feat of engineering.

Same company as this piece in wired did the Concordia - http://archive.wired.com/science/discov…

Also why do they have water in the swimming pool? See about 10 seconds.

Equivalent of stanced for ships?

Maybe it drained out of somewhere and into the pool? Doesn't look quite clean enough to swim in, though. I was also wondering why they bothered to fly flags from the masts. Probably some antiquated marine law about ships having to be under some flag or other.

I was thinking emergency gravity fed water for the tanks in case they need to balance out a leak. As for the flags, I imagine they want to show some pride on the shit heap they've been slaving over for 2.5 years. I'd fly me some flags too.

They made a pretty interesting documentary about uprighting the ship. I'd be surprised if they didn't document the rest of it as well.

Are you referring to the discovery channel one?

Yep. I thought it was fascinating. I'd hate to be the insurance company paying for that operation.
